Formula and variables

scale factor = target / baseline × batch count × (1 + overage/100)

Worked example

Example: two 500 mL TE batches with 10% overage

Apply a factor of 2.2 to baseline 5 mL Tris-HCl stock and 1 mL EDTA stock.

11 mL Tris-HCl stock + 2.2 mL EDTA stock; 1,100 mL total target final volume
