Producing CAR-T Cells Directly in the Body and Confirming Safety
In this phase 1 trial, patients were injected with lentivirus, which enabled their bodies to produce anti-BCMA CAR-T cells on their own. All five patients underwent treatment without significant adverse effects, and although the sample size is small, safety was demonstrated in the first phase. This approach may greatly simplify the conventional CAR-T manufacturing process if applied to a larger patient population.
