Background

AstraZeneca has initiated a Phase 3 clinical trial comparing datopotamab deruxtecan (Dato‑DxD) with docetaxel in patients with TROP2-positive non‑squamous non‑small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Currently, docetaxel, a standard chemotherapy, remains the primary treatment option for this lung cancer subtype, and novel targeted therapies are limited. TROP2 is a protein overexpressed on the surface of tumor cells and is emerging as a promising target for antibody‑drug conjugate (ADC) development.

Trial Design

The trial is slated to commence on October 31, 2025, and will be conducted as a global, multi‑center study.
