Resuspension Calculator

Calculate solvent volume for lyophilized compound resuspension

C = mass / (MW × V)

REQUIRED VOLUME

0.00µL

Tool Guide

Definition

Resuspension calculator — For lyophilized powders (e.g., siRNA, antibiotics, peptides), enter mass and molecular weight (or nmol) and the tool calculates the volume of solvent (DMSO/water/buffer) to add for a target stock concentration.

Purpose

(1) Synthetic siRNA (typically 5 nmol/tube) → calculate nuclease-free water volume for 100 µM stock (2) Peptide powder (typically 1 mg/vial) → 1 mM DMSO stock (3) Antibiotic powder (e.g., Puromycin 25 mg) → 10 mg/mL stock (4) Lyophilized small molecule inhibitors (Tocris/Selleck, etc.)

How to Use

① Choose input mode (Mass mode: mg + MW / Mole mode: nmol) ② Enter reagent info • Mass mode: powder mass (mg, µg) + MW (g/mol) • Mole mode: powder amount (nmol, pmol) ③ Enter target concentration (mM, µM, mg/mL — unit auto-converts) ④ Solvent volume to add (µL/mL) auto-displayed Add this volume directly into the lyophilized vial with a micropipette.

Examples

Example 1) Synthetic siRNA 5 nmol vial → 100 µM stock → Volume = 5 nmol / 100 µM = 50 µL nuclease-free water Example 2) Puromycin powder 25 mg → 10 mg/mL stock → Volume = 25 mg / 10 mg/mL = 2.5 mL water → Aliquot 1 mL and store at −20°C
